The famous Valley of Geysers is a canyon containing one of the largest geyser fields in the world. It is hidden in a hard-to-reach gorge of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve, and in the beauty and majesty of the landscape and the number of springs emitting fountains of hot water and steam, it has no equal. Gushing geysers, seething mud pots, incredibly colored slopes along which hot water flows and jets of steam escape, together with the lush greenery of herbs and trees create a truly fabulous sight.
Not far from the Valley of Geysers, there is another unique place - the Caldera of the Uzon volcano. This is a gigantic depression formed by the destruction of an ancient volcano. There are many boiling and seething funnels, numerous mud pots, yellow fumarole fields, soaring platforms with outlets of steam and hot water. In the eastern part of the caldera, as a result of a volcanic explosion, one of the largest explosion craters in Kamchatka, 1.65 km in diameter, was formed, filled with the picturesque Dalniy Lake.
